Job Description:
Empresarios Agrupados GHESA (EAG) is seeking a skilled Contract Manager with proven experience in complex projects within the nuclear and industrial installation sectors. The selected candidate will oversee contract administration, manage claims and variations, and ensure compliance with FIDIC conditions in the context of a high-profile international initiative.
This role is essential to ensure contractual compliance, effective risk management, and the successful delivery of a prefabrication and installation package under the ITER nuclear fusion programme.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
- Lead contract and planning activities, aligning internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Administer contracts across all phases, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and legal requirements.
- Follow-up of main contract conditions (incentives, delay damage…)
- Apply FIDIC contract conditions to complex engineering and installation works.
- Manage claims, variations, and change orders in coordination with project teams, clients, and legal advisors.
- Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Support the project team in understanding contractual rights and obligations.
- Prepare contractual correspondence, early warnings, reports, and documentation.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on dispute resolution.
- Track key milestones and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Supervise planning assumptions and maintain the project baseline.
- Provide strategic input through analysis of cost, schedule, and risk.
Contract Management:
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and deliverables.
- Draft and review contract amendments, deviations, and formal communications.
- Follow up on claims and compensation events.
- Serve as the main interface with the client on contractual aspects: scope, schedule, documentation, resources, and risks.
- Integrate cost and technical data for contractual evaluations.
- Analyse deviations and their impact on obligations, safety, schedule, and commercial aspects.
- Contribute to procurement and contract strategy development.
- Track purchase orders and associated documentation.
- Coordinate subcontractor plans with input from quality, procurement, engineering, and planning teams.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Contract Manager in nuclear projects.
- FIDIC contracts knowledge will be mandatory
- Strong background in complex contract management and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience in procurement, negotiation, and multidisciplinary project supervision.
- Familiarity with project planning, cost control, risk management, and documentation.
- Experience working with institutional clients.
- Previous involvement in ITER or similar international projects is a plus.
Languages:
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (mandatory).
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similarly relevant engineering degree.
