Job Description:
The duties of this position include, among others:
o Definition of methodologies and processes of the organization
o Collaboration and answering questions about meeting quality requirements of the contract when necessary
o Subcontractors-related quality management:
- Settling incidents regarding the subcontractors' quality system
- Answering questions about the quality requirements demanded of the subcontractors
- Reviewing FAT and SAT reports from the subcontractors
- Review IRCs
- Reviewing supplier documentation when required
o Project audits:
- Attending client audits
- Supervising the closing of actions
- Auditing of Subcontractors
o High-level supervision of Manufacturing Inspection Points (MIPs) and Inspection and Test Plan (ITPs)
o Quality Team Management
- Attending and holding in-house follow-up meetings with teams as well as with individuals
- Coordinating with the other disciplines to improve project management and communication
- Report on information, notification of incidents and coordination with Project Management

o Defining and managing the project quality system
- Defining and periodic updating of the quality plan and all its associated procedures
- Coordinating with the other disciplines to convey the need to comply with the quality system and create a quality culture (document, follow the procedures, report any incidents, participate actively in the quality system, etc.)
- Defining specific work processes to improve project development and communication and implementing them in the team
- Issuing associated documentation in the internal system
- Control of configuration baselines
o Management of non-conformities (NCRs and INCs)
- Identification and records. Completing NCR information in the client's database
- Internal management of related actions: meetings, email, expediting calls)
- Updating the NCR Status list
- Follow-up and expediting with the client for NCRs
- Follow-up and internal expediting for INCs
o Subcontractor-related quality management
- Qualifying and supervising subcontractors
- Qualifying all the subcontractors on the production line
- Defining the qualification and supervision check-lists
- Meetings with subcontractors
- Developing and completing the check-lists or reviewing them when the tasks is done by someone on the team
- Supporting supervision follow-up and expediting
- Reviewing and approving quality plans
- Reviewing and signing the Inspection Release Certificate (IRC)
- Meetings with subcontractors to settle incidents and/or comments on their documentation
- Meetings with Client to deal with matters involving the subcontractors
- Settling Clients' concerns and comments about the matter
o Preparation of the weekly progress report
- Integrating the information from all the quality team members
- Drafting emails and PowerPoint presentations
- Attending the monthly meeting and presenting the report to F4E and IO
- Answering questions and resolving comments
o Following up on lessons learned and collaborating on their acquisition
- Evaluating and following up on actions for improvement based on lessons learned
- Coordinating internally to record them on the Excel spreadsheet of lessons learned
- Communicating with F4E to reach agreements on the matter
o Development of the Management Control Plan
- Coordinating with scheduling to link the MCP to the Schedule
- Meetings with Client to reach agreements
- Resolving comments from Client
- Coordinating internally and with Client to release Hold Points
o Project documentation management
- Following up on compliance with the quality system in regard to project documentation
- Coordinating with the control team to define document codes
Academic requirement:
Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
Required Experience:
- At least 5 years of profesional experience as Quality Manager for Nuclear Projects
- Experience in nuclear safety will be valued
- Experience in piping construction project will be valued
- Experience in maintaining quality certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 19443) will be valued
- Experience in defining, organising and supervising quality control teams (NDT) will be valued
- EPC Projects: extensive experience in managing quality across all phases of EPC projects (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), ensuring compliance with quality standards throughout.
- Welding & Assembly: strong background in welding processes, material selection, inspection, and quality control, as well as overseeing industrial assembly processes.
- NDT (Non-Destructive Testing): expertise in NDT methods (ultrasonic, radiographic, visual testing and penetrating liquids) for ensuring material and structural integrity, with knowledge of related standards (ISO, ASME).
- Experience managing diverse teams in multinational environment meeting challenging milestones and ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
Skills:
- Quality Standards & Regulations: Knowledge of international quality standards, including ASME, and experience with internal and external quality audits.
- Quality Tools: statistical analysis for continuous improvement and project management.
- Nuclear Safety: experience or knowledge of nuclear safety regulations and standards is a plus, ensuring compliance with safety protocols on nuclear-related projects (specially in France)
- Knowledge of welding processes and standards: revision of reviewing Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and ensuring compliance with international standards
- Knowledge of welding qualifications and certifications: experience in certifying welders and ensuring adherence to relevant certifications, as well as managing Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR).
- Implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP): skilled in developing and executing ITPs for welding activities, ensuring that all quality checks, inspections, and NDT are completed to meet project specifications.
- Team Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead technical teams and communicate quality results clearly to stakeholders.
- Reporting: Experience in preparing detailed quality audit reports and presenting findings to senior management
- Continuous Improvement: identify opportunities for productivity enhancement, increase of reliability and redaction of cost of poor quality through process engineering and analysis of the root causes of observed non-conformities.
Languages:
Profesional level of English (at least B2).
Good level of Spanish (at least B1)
Location:
Cadarache, France.
Geographic flexibility:
Some travel to the Madrid HQ and according to the project requirements.
